CASE 1

Subject visualization for the catalogue

Modern 3D visualization, which has reached a high level of realism, has become an excellent assistant in business processes. For example, another project of mine, completed for a startup manufacturer of wooden tables in Spain.

To start sales, the customer developed a line of 20 tables. For a new production company, it can be a very difficult and expensive step to assemble all the tables at once and find a studio to conduct photography. You also need to show tables in the catalog in interiors that match the character of each model; only a company with a huge advertising budget and a long history can carry out such a shoot.

Something like a study was also conceived: if a model is not popular, it is removed from sale and the pictures go into the archive, there is no illiquid model in the warehouse, materials, wood and production hours were not spent on it. Thus, after several years of such analysis, a company can assemble a catalog consisting of top positions without spending time and budget on their implementation.

My task was to build a table in the 3D max program, make several types of tables on a light white background (studio) and come up with and develop a unique interior for each model, and make several types of tables in the interior. And also, an important step that will not be seen in the catalog, but will be seen in production: a drawing of all the parts.

The first step was to approve some standard components, for example, a tabletop consisting of type-setting boards of a certain size; it is unified for all models. We approved a wood texture that was as close as possible to the original. The production technologist showed me how end cuts and perpendicular fastenings look correctly.

After assembling the model, I made several views for each table on a white background, usually frontal, with a rotation of 30 degrees to the camera, if necessary, then a side view, and a close-up view.

After approval of the images on a white background, we moved on to designing the interior. A story was invented for each table, the style of the table was determined, and the interior corresponded to its idea. In addition to general views of the interior, I also made close-up images so that the customer could diversify the store’s feed on Instagram and other social networks.

Project close-ups:

As a result, the customer uses images of tables on a white background and in the interior on social networks and advertising campaigns for his company, on the company’s website, as well as in the catalog, which clients can download on the website or view in the office.
